17/05/11–Roger Waters–The Wall @ London O2

I have not been here for a gig, I visited the Millennium Dome back in 2000 and enjoyed it. Was I the only one.
Anyhow, it is now a venue

I had the chance to see the original production, twice and this one is the same but different.
There are new videos. but what was truly brilliant was the chorography of the wall building. There was no image displayed on a bit of wall that was not in place. Once a brick was inserted, it became part of the display. The technology back in the 80’s did not allow that.Excellent!

16/05/11 Riverside @ Scala London

I have been a fan for a while now, so when the chance came to see them I jumped at it.

The support were from Poland too and were 100% instrumental, very interesting sounds coming from the guitars and effects

 

Live they are heavier than on CD. But very good. well worth seeing.

 

15/5/11–Ultimate Shepard's Pie

Ingredients

Onion
Carrots (diced)
Green Beans (Sliced)
Mini Sweet Corn (sliced)
Green Peas
Sweet Corn
Potato

Pasta

Mince (real or Quorn)
Mixed Herbs
Cinnamon
Ginger
Worcestershire Sauce

Bisto Gravy Mix
Oxo Cube
Knorr Beef Stock Cube

Grated Cheese
Tomato

Method

Soften chopped Onion in a frying pan

Add Mince and brown

Add Gravy Mix, Oxo clube and knorr stock cube and make quite thick

Add Gravy mix to browned mince

Add Vegetables to the mince/Onion/Gravy mix and stir

Simmer and stir for 20 mins

Mash the potato

Add meat to dish, and cover with Mash, sliced tomato and grated cheese

Add to 200 degree oven for 20 mins

Serve and at!

I attended the launch of the long awaited first album. Also I suppose a warm up for tomorrows gig supporting Status Quo in Lincoln.

It was hot and loud, ears still ringing.

Never played here before, I did because I came home to fix my home internet, now runs at 30MB, fast!.

50 Things to do before I die – Jon Chapman. Played on the Critar. Stopped playing it on the Critar because it went out of tune too much. It needs to be broken and the neck fixing again to get the angle correct. The Critar started as a Gun & Moore Cricket Bat, made in Nottingham in 1970, and I have owned since then. BTW I do not play cricket!

They have a nice name for the venue and a great sign behind the stage.

This is NOT sour grapes

I have had a great time tonight. The artists were great. However, this is not an open mic. I left and missed what might be a great band because I was pissed off. You noticed. I am flattered you remembered my name. I wanted the chance to have my songs recorded
I was there at 7:30 and expect no special treatment, what I do is love open mic. I have done them around the country and this is unique in my experience mixing poetry and music, brilliant. What I find distasteful is that the list was pretty much, if not, full without all the names being there, therefore I did not play. Sounds like sore grapes but is not. I just expect a fair chance. If the list is full and it will be, limit to TWO, no exceptions. Insist that they are there to put their name on the list otherwise people like me will not get on. Run two a month. Will I come back next month, hell yes. Will I bring my guitar, hell yes. See you next month.
