2012-10-10 – Employee visits SA for the first time

Recent e-mail exchange – Names removed to protect the innocent
 
A work mate has been sent by work from the UK off to South Africa.
The trip included a 5* hotel and lifts from home to Heathrow and back. Collection from airport, First class Virgin flights, airport lounge access.
Anyhow read the e-mails between him and his boss.
They start out just enquiring about his trip, in a caring way!

All is well and the flight was superb!!........... apart from being stopped by customs and not being able to find the driver to the hotel  J
I have arrived at the offices and have now gained IT access etc
I should have all the files converted by the end of play today!!
I will give you a call later.

I have to confess boss………………..I tried to smuggle an extra 200 cigarettes in to the Republic of South Africa and I was penalised a whopping 239 Rand and got a slapped wrist!!  L

2012-10-06 Manvers Inn, Radcliffe-on-Trent

I like it here and the place has a great vibe. A small room where we are all packed in.

I was using my iPad for the lyrics for the first time in an open-mic environment. This worked well, but need to practice what happens when I get to the bottom of the page!!! I may get one of the dedicated holders for it so it is really secure.

There is a bluetooth hardware/software solution that I may investigate, but knowing me I will look to make something!

04/10/2012 - spam.....

Now we all get spam and fishing e-mails. The internet providers and e-mail clients try to protect us from them and generally do a great job.

So we all get legitimate e-mail that falls into our providers or e-mail clients “Spam” folder, so while looking for one legitimate e-mail, I happened upon this spam mail!

This is different from the normal, get a bigger willy, last longer type or you have won a fortune in the Guano state lottery! (if you must know well you don’t know me)!

So what is wrong with this e-mail.
a) I have never driven any form of vehicle in New York
b) I have never been to New York
c) I was elsewhere on the date and time listed and I can prove it!
d) How did they link this ticket to me?
e) What was I committing this offence in or on?
f) How fast was I actually going? I do not need statements that we are all travelling at x miles an hour around the sun, as that may piss off the NY police!
g) I cannot comment on the layout of the form, but suspect its bogus
h) I am not Jon Mason, if he is real and this is his ticket, he had best get in touch with them….

Should I be worried that the mighty extradition arm of the US state department comes for me and if I ever visit the fine state and city of New York, will I be arrested at the borders for an un-paid speeding ticket, because we all know how petty they can be.
